Judging a character

Okay so now that my first assessment is over I have a little breathing room where I want to get something off my chest. To research my trend further we went down to London for the day, the trip was helpful in so many ways but as well as leaving London with aching feet and extremely tired eyes (although that was my own fault since I had only had 2 hours sleep the night before) for the first time I actually left London, a little down hearted. Now as part of the brief we had to carry out primary research that involved speaking to consumers and retail workers from both high end and high street brands.
Just before I go any further I would just like to point out that this does not apply to every store but it doesn't exclude many in my opinion.
Because my trend is quite a luxury style we decided that we would try to cover a number of high end shops to look at their products, seeing if they featured the Knotted waist and speak to staff members who might be able help us; providing any additional information that might be useful
Simple right, well you would of thought so...
The first shop that we decided to go to was Dior, I was 100% feeling out of place so after taking a deep breath (or 3) we walked towards the door notepads in hand. Walking into the store it felt like a million eyes suddenly turn on us like a pack of vultures, as those eyes turned towards me i felt really judge; As if we had one something wrong. Just minutes before we had passed a jellewery store where the security man on the door was joking with us trying to get us to go into the shop. Now, I might not of been dressed head to toe in designer clothes, look like I have millions to my name or freshly tanned skin to suggest I have just got back from a luxury holiday. But why oh why should all this matter, they judged me straight away from by my appearance, every customer that walks into the store or any store for that matter should be treated the same.
Asking politely, (maybe even a little sheepishly) if we could ask a few questions regarding are trend and if they shocked it or anything similar to it in store, the woman who we directed are questions to gave us a slight smile and said something along the lines of "if you fellow me I will show you the ladies wear" so off up the staircase we went.
I will just added the interior design of the Dior shop is amazing!
Anyway, once successfully delivered to the ladies wear the assistance said she would go and have a look to see if there was anything she could find but was happy for us to browse the collection, but she disappeared, failing to return. Just under 10 minutes later we left the store almost as awkward as we went in.
Now I am a fan of Dior since researching the brands history last year it really captured me but after the visit I didn't know what to think/ feel now this happened a number of times throughout the day and the one that I found quite hilarious was when we walked into Moschino notepad in hand and the security guard approached to inform us that we would not be able to us them in the store as they might get on the clothes now don't get me wrong, but I wasn't going to make notes on you highly priced garments and I would have to be extremely close to them to get ink on them at all but since at the time we were approaching the counter to speak to the sales assistant this just felt like a reason to get us to leave.
I just think its a shame that as a fashion student who loves these brands so much I want nothing more than to go into these stores and view the products first hand but I'm in a sense, afraid to do this. But I think what really got to be is how we were judged, the people working within the stores are no different to myself we are all human at the end of the day for some reason however they feel that they stand above us, I don't think being judged like this should have any place in todays society and it is something that really annoys me.
Anyway rant over, again I would just like to say that this does not apply for every store and every sales person but I need to get it off my chest.
