How shoot day almost went disasterously wrong!

To see all the stress of the last couple of weeks finally coming together to portray the vision we have had in are heads, was exciting. After briefing the photographer on the look and feel we were going for her understood us completely and I would just like to say he did an amazing job because in my personal opinion the final photographs are truly stunning and there's not a single one that we could use moving forward.
For are photoshoot we really want to take a minimal approach; no excessive props, styling or makeup just a clean, elegant approach that we feel would have a better connection with are consumer… a more mature, educated woman that isn’t really interested in adverts that have everything thrown into them, but rather something that they feel is more relatable (if you can class a professionally photographed imaged, with studio lighting and post production editing more relatable) I’ll probably class it as the traditional advertisement images, not a glamour approve but a very beauty editorial feel with a lo-fi approach.
By taking this minimal approach it meant that are shoot was very in expensive, the only money that went into it was for a globe which we are mainly using in are video but decided to take along to the shoot just in case we wanted to get a more varied range of shots.
We decided from the get go that post production editing would play a big part on the overall appearance of are final print add, we are shoot was very straight forward and actually went quite smoothly minus a disastrous start which brings to the point in relation to the title of this post.
So apparently no one in my group can read properly (myself included), we had spoken about the shoot, planning of it the week before by creating a checklist on what we needed separating responsibilities; for example, I was in charge of sourcing the props, we arranged to meet up the day before hand to finalize everything in which we felt confident when we left each other, and so went our separate ways for the evening.
Fast forward to shoot day, I got up early to prepare myself and set out at 1:30 to meet my group at 2, 2 o’clock comes and goes still with no sign of my group finally half an hour later they turn up but no stress because at this point we think that are time slot is 3:15 so we head round to a tabled area closer to the studio to get ready.
When all of a sudden a panicked lecture emerges “guys are you in now” confused we all look at each other “no we are in at 3:15” which is right that’s what the listing showed
WRONG
We had all managed to read it wrong and we were actually meant to start shooting at 2:30!
My heart sank, rush of panic suddenly came over me I felt sick (how could 4 people miss read the same thing) we practically ran down to the studio, at this point we all looked hot and flustered so lord only knows what the photographer was think. We just looked on incompetent and this meant that we would have a shorter amount of time to capture are visual concept.
But moral of this little story is that because we were so prepared with everything else we managed to make the time up and still come out with the end result we were hoping for. I didn’t matter that we were late because we all knew what we were doing and got straight into it, over coming are little mishap.
