Why is living with boys like living with pigs?

I’m apologise now I am no stereotyping every member of the male species, because the vast majority of you are tidy, clean with an overall understanding of general hygiene but these simple things seem to be lacking in my fellow male house mates. And yes I am aware that’s this is problem not an interesting read but I just need to let it out in the hope that someone out there understands me, especially my fellow female students out there.

The male members of flat 2101 just seem to have no understanding of how to tidy up after themselves, it like they have never seen bleach before, I wonder what they do when they are at home because I can guaranty their family home look like this eye saw I am currently facing, the reality is that their parents probably tidy up after them.

I can’t help but feel sorry for them if this is the case, and I apologise on your son’s behalf for this. (although they have probably been nurtured like a baby most of their lives which is why they have no ability to see the mess that they make)

Before coming to UNI I had this vision of how living with 7 other people would be, an image of a nice living environment where we would come to gather every evening for a little while, whilst we cooked are evening meals in a somewhat pleasant environment. But god was this a short lived fantasy, that I look back upon as wishful thinking.

They seem to just be able to look past the pile of dishes giving Mount Everest a run for its money, the plant to pasta set solid to bottom that has begun to create its own lifeform or the frying pan sitting on the hob several inches deep in fat. I’m surprised we haven’t had health inspectors in or that I haven’t caught some deadly disease, you think I’m being dramatic but this is the reality.

It’s almost near impossible to cook, it an obstacle course to work around (a deadly one at that) and poor Karen are clean who comes in every Monday to clean this bomb sight must dread it, I know I certainly would.

But this mess does not just stay within the kitchen up their own rooms as well, their lack of knowledge in the cleaning department even extends to them not know how to properly change a bed sheet and not a single one of them turned up to UNI with a single cleaning product. What were they expecting for the cleaner to clean their own rooms too, I don’t think that’s the idea of UNI you meant to move away, grow as an individual and gain independence.

In all of this I was actually shocked the other day to find out that we are actually one of the cleaner flats within my accommodation, the instant reaction to this was a very sarcastic laugh. Had I really heard this right, could there be people living in condition that exceed what I have been describing well apparently so who even thought that this would be humanly possible.
